I have a Winchester .22 "automatic" that my mom used to hunt with my grandfather.  It holds 16 shells in the stock with a plunger under the barrel.  Can anyone tell me the model #, mfg date, etc. on this gun?  The serial # is 99305.

Thanks in advance!

From your description I believe that you have a Winchester Model 63. Below is a link to our parts list that has a breakdown that you can compare your gun against. According to The Blue Book of Gun Values 174,692 were made between 1933-1958. The exact date of manufacture I am ot able to provide.

That looks like it!  Thanks!  Is there anyway to narrow the date down?

Thanks again!

Actually, it's a Model 1903, manufactured in 1923--the same year my mom was born.  I dug a little deeper into some gun collecting books and the Winchester web site.  The Model 1903 was chambered for the Winchester .22 automatic shell, the Model 63 was chambered for a .22 lr. This gun is chambered for the .22 Win. automatic only.

Thanks again!
