Hi all, I'm new to this forum but considering all the help I receive on ArcheryTalk forums I wanted to see if anyone here could help me out with my BLR issue! I recently was lucky enough to pick up a beautiful Model 81 BLR .284 rifle at a collectors estate auction. The gun is in mint condition but is missing the magazine. Since the gun was only produced for 7 years (1989-1995) I got a feeling it's gonna be hard to find a clip! I've looked on gunbroker, eBay and gunauctions but can't find one. Anyone know of anywhere else I can look?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for looking!!

One of the problems with this cartridge is that is neither fish nor fowl...it is the first USA developed cartridge that used a rebated rim,the rim is 308 Win size(.473) and the body is a larger mangum size (.500-.475"and to make it just a litle tougher..the case length s longer(2.170") than the .308 Win (2.015")based rounds, yet shorter than the 30-06 (2.494")based rounds> meaning that the practice of taking a magazine marked for another cartridge(usings a .308 Win magazine for the .243 or 7mm-08) may not be feasible..However  using a .308 magazine may be possible if the feed lips are opened up and you moniter the OAL of your handloads to fit that magazine length....However...before you play   try: www.browning.com and Google Search... or give The Clip Joint a call(814)827-2371   or Goggle  Jack First,Inc
