Remington 1100 Choke Tube Styles

Remington 1100 Choke Tube Styles

I ORDERED A CHOKE TUBE FOR MY REMINGTON 1100 SHOTGUN AND THE THREADS ARE INCORRECT, AND LOCATED TOO DEEP IN THE BARREL?

Remington shotguns have been made with two styles of choke tubes over the years. These are the Rem-Choke system, which is used on current production shotguns, and the ProBore system. Shotguns are sometimes marked on the barrel for which choke style they use, but not always.

The easiest way to tell these two apart is that barrels using Rem-Chokes have recessed threads approximately 1.25" from the muzzle, and the threads for barrels using ProBore tubes will be located near the end of the muzzle.
