The trigger guard shown is from a 1893 Mauser. Note the arrow which is to release the floor plate

The arrow points to the floor plate latch.

The arrow points to the floor plate hinge pin.

I have never seen this type of trigger guard or hinge type floor plate arrangement on a 1893 Spanish Mauser. I am trying to get the release button out of the trigger guard so I can blue the gun completely. Can someone help me to show how to remove the latch. I have tried several gunsmiths and none recognize this arrangement and what type of gun used it. All I have seen on Spanish Mausers have been the drop offfloor plate. v/r Bob

There is a pin that retains the plunger in the trigger guard. The center of it is approx 0.200" from the right side looking down from the top. The pin can be drifted down into the trigger guard.

A small number of 1916 Spanish mausers were made in Spain with hinged trigger guards and there are no parts for them unless you find a complete trigger housing.
