H&R 929 Revolver

Hey Everyone;

I have a H&R 929 Revolver, 2½" Barrel, Serial #:  AX004362.    The gun is in excellent condition but  it no longer operates in single action mode.   Double action is great.    I can't tell that anything is broken.   I suspect that sometime when I  was attempting to change grips I may have lost something and didn[t realize it.    What part do I need to get this gun back to working in single action mode?    I would also like to put a set of grips on it that would give me a slightly larger grip surface.   The stock grips are a little small for my hands.   Is this possible or  will the gun only accept stock grips.     I need some new grips regardless.

Many times after market grips do not allow the hammer all the way back in single action.You may need to inlet it some until the hammer goes all the way back.

Thanks for your reply, Delos:    I do not have after market grips.   The grips that are on my 929 are the stock grips that came on the gun.    My problem is that  a part has been lost that enables the gun to  be used in single action mode.    I don't know what part this would be  and was wondering if anyone could advise me as to which part controls the single action mode?

Why would you remover the sear (part 27)and sear spring (part 28)to change the grips?
