i purchased a slide for a 1907 from Numrich and they sent me a nickel plated slide!!! it looks awesome and i was hoping that somehow, someone over there could check and see if there are any more nickel plated parts for that gun. damn i would love to get a slide stop, trigger and grip safety to match that slide! i guess some Swedish officer must have had their sidearm plated, and i got really lucky that they happened to have that one on the shelf. the Browning hammerless pistols are some of my personal favorites (but then anything Browning designed is high up on my list). anyone at Numrich that can help me out with this?
Very few nickel plated 1907's were made and only by FN and plated parts are fairly rare.New slides are available from SARCO cheap.
I'm sure that's true; but someone had it plated after the fact because this is an early Husqvarna slide with "Browning patented" on it. I was hoping that Numrich had some more parts from that gun still in stock so I could buy them. it would look mighty cool with plated bits on the parkerized frame.
So while i was stoning the slide and frame for 2+ hours to get them to fit together, i did notice the BROWNING'S - PATENT stamped on it and while i disassembled the frame to clean all the fossilized spooge out of it, it only took me 3 days to figure out that indeed you are correct sir! it's an FN slide. seems to work ok... thanks for the info; now i know i need to look for nickel FN parts too.
