Hi!

I have a question concerning the screw for the rear band for a Marlin 1894CS chambered in .357mag (serial # 03021761):

The original screw (part #407590B) is threaded at the head-end, but is no longer available.

The suggested substitute (part #1974980B) depicts a screw that is threaded at the opposite end.

So ... can you please check if part #1974980B is a real substitute for the original #407590B and there is just the wrong picutre in the item description?
Just judging by the picture, part #372130 seems like to be a better substitute for the original #407590B.

Thank you in advance!

Item #407590B has the wrong photo attached. The Marlin 1894CS takes the type screw shown on #1974980. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thank you for your fast reply!

Are you sure that #407590B had the wrong photo attached?
Because I own a Marlin 1894CS and my screw broke - and it definitely has the threads on its head-end.

The correct rear band screw for your Marlin 1894CS is #372130 if the threads are on the head end of the screw. The photo on #407590B was incorrect and will take a few days for web site to update.

It seems with intermittent production runs of the Marlin 1894 variations over the years, the type of these screws used may be inconsistent.
