I have an antique J.C Higgins bolt action 22 model 103.229 that was passed on to me after my father passed away.
It has not been fired in over 60 years.
I am having the rifle serviced, but it appears we are missing the firing pin.
We have been unable to locate a J.C. Higgins replacement firing pin, but in my research found that the Marlin 81 appears very similar to this rifle. It's a long shot I know, but is it possible that a Marlin 81 firing pin could be compatible with the Higgins 103.229?
My thanks for your assistance.
The J.C. Higgins 103.229 is a store brand model made by Marlin. The Marlin 81 firing pin will fit and function in the J.C. Higgins 103.229.
