Wondering if I can order a machined M1903 follower specifically without the markings "E", serifed "R", "W", and/or an eagle's head stamp, as it seems followers with these markings are actually M1917 followers.

Apparently, when I last ordered a 1903 follower I got a 1917 follower - which will not fit a 1903 properly, and only allows 4 rounds to be loaded.

I'm amazed that they are dimensionally different, yet some people on other forums insist they are the same. Finally spoke to a local FFL and 1903 collector and he (along with several other present 1903 and 1917 owners) also claimed that they are different and will likely cause feed issues. The only online source that I can find which echoes this was this CMP forum post here. If anyone else has any other input on the validity of these claims, or ideas as to what else may cause only 4 rounds to fit in the magazine, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Too order a Springfield 1903 milled follower(#516160) without the stamps, email your order information to orderinfo@gunpartscorp.com. Ask the rep to put the order on hold and to Attn: #32. Thank you.
