1. Put safety to left (fire) and cock ("rust" means safe in Dutch)
2. Depress bolt release completely to remove
3. Decock by rotating to the left (counterclockwise)
4. Place bolt firing pin on wood to prevent flyaway damage
5. Push-in safety to unscrew rear of bolt by turning firing pin nut
6. Slowly release tension
7. Bolt assembly comes apart into 8 pieces:
a. Bolt body
b. Cocking piece
c. Bolt head and extractor
d. Safety
e. Safety spring
f. Firing pin
g. Fining pin spring
h. Firing pin nut
To assemble:
1. Place firing pin spring on firing pin
2. Place firing pin & spring into bolt body
3. Place bolt head over firing pin, bolt head is slotted to fit only one way into bolt body. The bolt head must face away from the bolt handle to do step 5. Try both orientations to get the right one.
4. Place on wood and press down on bolt body so that the bolt head is fully compressed
5. Place cocking piece on rear of firing pin, slide it fully into its bolt’s V-slot
6. Place safety and safety spring into bolt body safety slot
7. Screw in firing pin nut, depress safety to fully screw nut onto firing pin
8. Cock assembly prior to placing into weapon.
Your receiver was made in Hembrug (Hembrug is the correct spelling, but everyone spells it Hemburg), the Dutch national armory. Steyr in Austria also made some early Dutch M1895 Mannlicher receivers.
