Yes T.Oheir but if a man said no to everything he didn't know, he would have never learned anything to start with. Life is all trial and error. It's very smart on Jed's part for trying to educate his self about *THINGS HE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT* I think you under estimated Jed. I have a feeling he knows a little more than you give him credit for. Besides, not everyone wasn't fortunate enough to have been born knowing everything.

A while back you suggested to a poster with a HK91 having function problems to "check his gas ports". THE HK HAS NO GAS PORTS! It is a roller locked delayed blowback action! Your inexperience and arrogance is showing. You should stick to what you know and leave your put downs out. He who lives in a glass house should not throw stones! Otherwise your comments are well taken, just leave the personal attacks out!

OH...S**T,,,did'nt mean to stir up anything he.e.e.. lets be friends here now. he.e.. T'O', has been a good friend, and very helpful over the last few years, he.e.. However...he does like to disect your verbage, in a posting, and centerfire on that one disection. Perhaps he was an English grammer, instructor at one time,he.e.. anyway....all is well, I have folks answer my 'dumb arse' questions, via email, sometimes, and turns out a fellow had run up on the same situation, and he used the CVA, .45 cal, pistol, lubricated wads. They are about 1/4" in thickness, and fit perfectly over the powder load. Synthetic lube, that is Non-Flammable, and hold it tight enough to get the 'bang effect'. Thats all we're looking for here. T'O'...I am interested in that 'theatrical' stuff you mentioned, dont know anything bout' that., but would like to. I'll tell ya' something else I have noticed lately, things we say among each other here on the forum, are somehow, picked up by the mighty search engine, 'google'. I've typed in topics in the google search bar, and been threaded directly to my original question, with its answers! And I did'nt do a link to it! hmmmm...dunnno. Oh well...I guess the big 'Eye' is watching all of us, whether we like it or not. heee....thanks all.

JEB, You do not want _anything_ to do with "flash power". That is what the explosive is in fire-works and it burns so fast that it has been known to burst a barrel with NO PROVECTILE! I have personal experience in this!
Good Luck, Gary

Jeb, not to get off the subject but when I did parades with a reinactment group I used just black powder and no wad at all. All shots were fired at a 45 degree angle or higher so the charge stayed at the breech and made a nice report with smoke and stink! A very small bit of butt wipe paper will work as well and will generally burn up completly. Don't need to pack it down hard.

Basically Blackpowder has a danger that smokeless doesn't in that it generates the same result whether it is confined by barrel of cartridge case..or in an ashtray on your coffee table....no wad pressure required however the handling of loose powder..outdoors by a NOVICE seems a bit hairy to me..to many applications of MURPHY'S LAW will find a perch to roost on. I suggest that the folks at www.hodgdon.com be consulted about the use of a single pellet of PYRODEX can be used, simple to install..no spillage and only two components..a pellet and a cap!

Just wanted to let all know, everthing went fine, with the Pirate Pistol Parade Packin' Piece, he.e..e used the 45 cal. pellets, with same cal. plastic sabot stuffed in on top....it goes 'click', then boom! with no wading on fire to worry bout. Guys down at our local sporting goods store, said they get calls for this all the time, for re-enactments, parades, etc. So...all is well, and thank you all for your comments.
