I’m at my wits end, I purchased a trigger guard sku: 1480860A, It looks identical as the original but after being installed the gun will not fire, the hammer cocks and fall as it should but the transfer bar seems to fall before being struck by the hammer, reinstall the original one and it fires.
The new trigger doesn’t appear to of come from the same mold as the original as slight differences are visible but nothing that should cause a mis-fire.
I don’t have the complete original guard only the portion that is in the receiver, it still functions holding the trigger and springs just no guard around the trigger. It looks like a simple part swap but that isn’t the case, do you have any idea what might be the issue?
After a good amount of time I’ve gotten the Topper 88 to fire reliably, the new trigger guard needed significant fitting to make it work. As I have said the new guard looks identical to the old one but dimensionally they differ, only by .020 in a critical area.
