I have a Hopkins and Allen 722 and I am looking for a schematic or at the very least a picture of the hammer and trigger springs. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hopkins and Allen were in buisness from about 1868 nd made small spur trigger revolvers, some very nice double barrel shotguns and a few rifles. The 722 is a REPLICA of those rifles..likely the Falling Block Rifle made between 1888 and 1892. The company that picked up the name and offered H&A branded products is the host of this forum..They had the 722 made and marketed it for a short period. My recollection of the 722 is that it is patterned after the Winchester Model 1885 single shot(made today by browning) but the major replica/clone maker of the 1885 is Uberti...These rifles were often called "High Wall" for CF cartridges and Low-Wall" for smaller pistol type or rimfire rounds. The parts may vary in shape but not in function. An excellent book with the takedown of the 1885 is by David Chicoine(www.old westgunsmith.com) and titled Antique Firearms Assembly/Disassembly in paperback by Gun Digest Books...However, you should be able to find a YouTube tape on the 1885 showing it in detail, from that you should be able to ascertain if those instruction apply to your gun. You can also ask our host if they still have anything on the gun they sold. You do that from the Employee forums 3rd one from the top
Identifying or Finding Firearms or Part...Post under the tradename..if no specific forum for H&A use the "others" forum....You may also find help at:
