I have a listing for the Model 416 Bolt action as being a bearer of the "STEVENS" nameie Stevens Bolt Action Traget Rifle No.416 Introduced 1937 It was made in 3 grades and the grades were a matter of sight type. The 416-1,the 416-2 and the 416-3 In Phililp B. Sharpe's book titled The Rifle in America there is a column on page 386 on these rifles. I quote" Sights include the new Stevens No.25 hooded front sight with five removable inserts and a Lyman 57 rear sight designed to fit the rifle. this would be the 416-1 the 416-2 is as the -1 except that it sell for less money because the the hooded front is replaced with a plain blade..the -3 is offered without sights for use with optics. If you have access to a copy of Nick Strobel's book titled Old Gunsights & Rifle Scopes....Identification and Price Guide..then you can see a very clear picture of the No.25 with all its inserts on page 190(bottom left corner) and on page 191 it staes: FRONT SIGHTS No.25 Front Target Globe with five inserts; Dovetails into barrel, inserts held in place with two screws. VALUE: $45-$75 Mr Stroebel can be contacted via his publisher Krause Publications?Gun Digest Books www.gundigestbooks.com However, When I am in need of sights for a dated Savage/Stevens/Springfield and a reproduction will suffice..I check with Stevens Sight & Tool Co. RD 1 Box 307C Effort, Pa. 18330 the last phone # I have is (215)681-5670 Hope this is of some help Zeke

Zeke, something ain't right here. I have a friend who has property on Effort Mountain just north of the village of Effort. on Rt. 115 about 5 miles south of the Pocono International Raceway. I know the area well Zeke. You may have the right Zip code, but the last phone number you give sounds like it's in my south Philadelphia area. My Area code is (215). I'll try that number tomorrow and see who answers. Stand by.

The 215 Area Code used to extend that far north - over 25 years ago. It was changed back then to 610 then about 8 years ago it was changed to 570. Too damn many telephones, cells and land lines, etc. in this area and not enough numbers for one area code.

Hey Zeke, I couldn't wait last night. I made that call about 8:30 PM. A nice lady answered the phone. Seems she has been getting phone calls for Stevens gun sights from as far away as Switzerland. She's located right here in south Philly. She was tolled the company has relocated to ( Lititz, Pa. ) area code 717. Yes I asked her what the rest of the number was. She didn't know/remember.
