Thanks for the replys. Since I bought a registered 9MM suppressor in 1/2 X 28 threads I decided to have all my 9MM guns threaded to fit it. I found a shop that was able to turn the barrel for me since it is pressed in place. Since the original barrel had threads it isn't illegal to add different threads nor is it illegal to thread pistol barrels to fit a suppressor. Granted it is not a quality built weapon by any means but as a collector I find its style and history appealing, it is fun to shoot and the more bad press it gets the more prices have continued to climb. With factory mags it doesn't jam and with an added silencer its totally politically incorrect.

thier pressed to hold and about the only way i could see is to cut the pressed areas out ,then press it back out. to put it back you may be able to weld in place where the cuts will be. index the barrel
by marking it or pinning it. this should be don't by a very good welder and ask before hand to see if he can do it. the pressing could be milled out by clamping the barrel good. just a thought :)
