I'm seeking help for a replacement bolt assembly issue I am having. I purchased one of your complete bolt assemblies (sku103970A) for my father's childhood rifle (a Springfield Model 15), the bolt will enter the breach just fine, and the trigger will hold the bolt as it should, however the bolt will not secure into battery, and I don't care to muscle it home (for fear of damaging the boltface or firing pin). It looks like the extractor is crowding the chamber, but I am hesitant to start any fitting before I'm sure that's my issue, or if I'm just missing something else. From what I've gathered about the original model 15s, the firing pin acted as the extractor, and I don't see a secondary extractor on the factory bolts, but I may very well be mistaken on that. Everything else seems to fit and operate just fine with the bolt.
Following up on this, after having sent in the bolt assembly, and then receiving a replacement order.
The bolt I received this time locks up in battery just fine, however I'm now having issues with the striker. Namely, once the bolt is closed in battery, I go to cock the striker, but it does not appear to hold fully cocked. From what appears to be happening (or not rather), the flat spring(trigger assembly) that hold the bolt in place, and seemingly actuates the striker as well, is not fully interfacing with the notch of the striker. To me, it looks like if I we able to rotate the striker housing a couple degrees over, it should groove properly. Is there anything I can do that might solve my issue without sending the whole assembly back again?
