I'm in need of a stock bolt to an old Savage 12Ga sidexside. I recently purchased SKU 148950E (Stock Bolt, Blued, New Reproduction (1/4 x 24 TPI)) thinking this was a savage 311. Since the bolt I ordered isn't the correct fit, I did some better measuring and believe I'm looking for a 5/16-20 x 5" or 5 1/8". Does this sound right for a smiliar model? Maybe a 315? Regardless of model, do you have a stock bolt that might work? Thanks-
Does the stock have a 2 5/8" tang and is the top snap retained by a screw from the top down? If so, there is a good chance the Savage is a model 315. The stock bolt you ordered with the 1/4" X 24 TPI threads is the only stock bolt currently available for the model 315. There were other stock bolts with a different thread pitch that were made for the 315, but they are not available.
