Star 9m/m38 what have I got?

Rodney Joined: March 2025	Posted: March 3, 2025 08:23 PM I recently acquired a Star semi-auto .... missing magazine, else looks almost new left side of slide identifies Star and S.A. cal. 9m/m38 looks like importer's name stamped above the trigger right side has serial number 1125xxx right side trigger guard has SPAIN stamped magazine well is tapered and stamped AS has magazine safety so will not fire unless magazine is inserted thus I am sunk until finding a magazine (or 2) what have I got and can you help me find a couple magazines? I am guessing 38 ACP, but will it handle 38 super? thanks much Rod rfm

I believe the correct magazine is #1660220 for $52.09. These firearms shoot 9MM and .38 ACP., but not .38 Super. The magazine safety "feature" is a real treasure; puts enough pressure on the magazine to prevent magazine eject, need to use tool. Is there another magazine that might work?
