1911 Spring Replacement

1911 Spring Replacement

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REPLACE THE RECOIL SPRING ON MY 1911 .45 AUTO? I DO QUIT A BIT OF SHOOTING WITH IT. I GENERALLY RUN THROUGH 100 ROUNDS OR SO EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS AND ALL OF THIS IS FULL POWER, FACTORY OR MILITARY AMMO.

I would suggest you swap out the recoil spring every 2000 to 3000 rounds. Recoil springs are not that expensive, and the way I look at it, it’s a very economical and easy way to help prevent damage to a very expensive pistol frame.
